About ME
Kelly Caufield
I was born and raised in the great state of Maine. I began my musical journey in my childhood living room with a hairbrush, a smile, and my family and friends as my audiences. I eventually made my way to the Schoolhouse Arts Center in Sebago where I caught the musical "bug" and spent the majority of my adolescence doing as many musicals as I possibly could. As a music student at the University of Southern Maine School of Music, I studied musical theater voice and repertoire using classical/operatic techniques with Ellen Chickering and Edward Reichert. The decade that followed is a beautiful blur of performances with Portland Players, College Light Opera Company, the Boothbay Opera House, Portland Symphony Orchestra, Bangor Symphony Orchestra, The North Shore Philharmonic, Maine ProMusica Orchestra, Music Doing Good (out of Houston, TX) and Portland's Good Theater. I conceived, wrote and starred in my one-woman show, LEGENDS: The Music of Judy Garland, which premiered at City Theater! I am private voice teacher and specializes in fusing classical vocal techniques with musical theater and popular repertoire.
